ORGANIC REALLY IS BETTER

Why is organic better?

The short answer is that organic farming is better for the planet, and what’s better for the planet is better for all of us.

The Peppered Earth approach to farming is to keep it clean, sustainable, and reliable. In this way, we feed our community on more than one level: we are growing food in a way that takes into consideration the health of the people who consume it, the health and livelihoods of the people who grow it, and the earth in which it is planted. With this approach, we obtained Organic Certification through Oregon Tilth, and are proud to offer our organic products across the United States.

Is the food better?

There are differing views on whether organic farming has an impact on things like flavor. And you’re likely to get different answers on how it affects nutrition depending on who you ask. But simply stated, organic farming means fewer synthetic pesticides in the soil, in the groundwater, on the workers, on your food, and in your body. Those are undeniably positive things, and it fuels why we do what we do.

We believe growing organically and sustainably is worth it

Right now, it costs more to farm in an organic and sustainable way. And accessibility to organically grown produce is still a barrier for many. We believe in efforts to reduce those barriers and keep organic, sustainable farming going because we believe in our community and in the people we feed. We believe in you.

Using sustainable methods to grow food is better for the health of the soil and water, it naturally follows that it’s better for all the plants and animals, including humans, whose lives depend on what grows on the land we inhabit together.
